He projected the total cost of the increase for the balance of the fiscal year that ends June 30 to be $38,137.93, which Callis said “can be absorbed in the current year’s budget.” Once the non-certified officers successfully complete police academy training and probation, their salaries will increase to $46,000 per year.Ĭallis said “to be equitable and competitive with other agencies, our current officer salaries would also be increased by $6,000 per year.” The new scale increases starting salaries from $40,000 per year to $44,000 for non-certified officers and from $40,000 to $46,000 for certified officers.
